HISTORY OF ASRAMA DAMAI KUANG

Damai Kuang Orphanage Welfare Association or better known as Asrama Damai Kuang was founded by Yang Berusaha Tuan Haji Suhaimi Bin Dzajuli on 2nd May 1989. At the beginning of the establishment, the founder's residence was used as a location to accommodate 9 orphans and a single mother . Until a donor donated a 0.05 acre plot of land in Lorong Teratai Kuang. In order to smooth the organization's planning, Masjid Al-Islahiyah Kuang has established a temporary committee to carry out work planning to obtain funding, support and assistance from corporate agencies and specific individuals to build basic buildings.

In 1991, the basic building was successfully built and a total of 74 orphans were placed in this building. From time to time the occupants are increasing and the area can also be expanded to 4 acres in the name of waqf which is managed by the waqf section, Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS).

After more than 30 years of implementation, this organization has raised more than 150 university graduates from home and abroad. This is a matter of pride for the management even though they are not introduced to the pleasures of the world, yet they have the vision and passion to succeed and be an example to their other brothers here.
